About
At present I am sculpting with found weathered timber and making wax Marquette's to be cast in bronze in preparation for a shared show. My other areas of interest are woodcut print making and making sculpted handled walking sticks.

I began woodcarving in 1968 at evening classes with the late Gino Masero . Between 1970 and 1971. I worked full time with this master carver.

In 1979 my interest in carved furniture took me to West Dean College in Sussex where I trained to restore antique furniture and gained the West Dean BADA certificate with credits. Between 1986 and 1989 I studied sculpture full time with tutor Alan Sly at The City and Guilds Art school gaining a 2.1 pass.

I concentrated on figure modelling in clay, which I then cast in cement fondue. I have been teaching and carving part time for thirty five years and now, as well as teaching at West Dean, I am concentrating on commissions and new projects. My work has always been a wood based and this
is reflected in two other elements of my work are wood turning- which is about shape and form, and walking stick making which are in fact small sculptures on a walking stick.

My partner Tabitha McBain and I live near Petworth in West Sussex. Our main interests are organic gardening and enjoying the local countryside.
